PAAL (MILK) CAKE

A tasty, healthy low calorie sweet – no ghee, no oil!
Cooking time – 50-60 minutes
Makes 20 pieces


Ingredients
Whole milk – 1 liter
Sugar – 2 cups

Method
Use a big thick-bottomed vessel – preferably a non-stick vessel.
Boil the milk at high flame, stirring in between.
Continue to heat till the quantity reduces to half.
Lower the flame and continue to stir for another 5 minutes.
Add sugar and continue to stir intermittently till it thickens.
When it leaves the sides of the pan, transfer to a greased plate.
After 5 minutes, make deep cuts with a greased knife to form diamond shaped pieces.
Gently remove the pieces one by one after another 7-10 minutes.

Tips
Use a big vessel so that the milk does not boil over as you cook on high flame.
