CAPSICUM - PANEER FRY


 A tasty and spicy dish with the goodness of paneer (cottage cheese) and capsicum.

Serves 4
Preparation time - 20 minutes
Cooking time - 30 minutes
Ingredients

  1. Capsicum – ½ kg – cut in long strips
  2. Paneer – 200 gms – cut in 1cm cubes
  3. Onion – 1 big – cut in thick long strips
  4. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  5. Asafetida – 1/4 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  7. Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  8. Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  9. Cumin powder – 1 tsp
  10. Tandoori masala – 1 ½ -2 tbsp
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Oil – 3-4 tbsp
Method 

  1. Add ½ tbsp of tandoori masala and required salt to the paneer pieces and mix well and set aside.
  2. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan.
  3. Add cumin seeds and asafetida.
  4. When they splutter, add the sliced onions and fry well.
  5. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander & cumin powders and 1 tbsp of tandoori masala and fry for a minute.
  6. Add the sliced capsicum and salt and mix well.
  7. Cook covered on a low heat for 5 minutes.
  8. Add the marinated paneer and mix well.
  9. Add 1 more tbsp of oil if required and cook covered for a minute.
  10. Remove the lid & fry for another 5-7 minutes.
  11. Serve hot with chapathis.
