DALIA - MOONG DOSA



This is a  modern version of dosa - designed by and for the 'health-conscious'! A healthy, tasty dosa, it can be prepared within hours as there is no need for fermentation of the batter.

Makes 10-12 dosas

Ingredients –
Dalia (broken wheat) – 1 cup
Green moong dal – 1 cup
Green chilli – 4
Curry leaves – 10
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Asafetida – ¼ tsp
Salt to taste
Oil

Method –
Wash and soak dalia and dal (the green skin should not be washed off) separately for about 2 hours.
Grind together along with green chillies in a mixer.
Add salt and mix.
Heat a tsp of oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal and cumin seeds. When they splutter, add asafetida and curry leaves and pour into the batter.
Heat a tava and make dosas.
Serve hot with ketchup / any chutney / spiced chutney powder and oil.
